A Taste of Kansas City, 3rd Printing
The Friends of CCVI, an auxiliary of the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired, proudly announces the third printing of A Taste of Kansas City, Then and Now!
Created in 2002-03 in celebration of CCVI's 50th birthday, this wonderful compilation contains 19 page-long histories of past restaurants, 304 recipes from past and present restaurants, from chefs, caterers, cookbook authors, cooking schools AND more than 130 friends of CCVI.
Included are past favorites like Plaza III Steak Soup, Nu-Way Hamburgers, Putsch's 210 Spinach Salad, Sidney's Cheese Cake, Cafe Allegro's Tomato Soup, and Eddy's Pork Chops. A very special recipe, the delicious Chicken and Orzo Salad, was created for CCVI's Anniversary by Chef Timothy E. Johnson of Webster House Antiques and enjoyed by the Friends of CCVI at their Spring 2003 membership luncheon. Recipes vary from exotic satays to the traditional Coca-Cola cake. There is an entire chapter of Kids' Recipes too.
Books are $20 and make wonderful gifts. Place your order now!
